Education has always mattered to me.
I can recall my grandmothers expressing the importance of obtaining not only a college degree but also the right education to enhance our lives and those around us. After serving seven years in the US Air Force and working in various industries in corporate America, I decided to pursue my passion of becoming a teacher. I taught for four years with San Antonio Independent School District and then went on to work as an Education Program Manager with Army Medical Recruiting. A cancer diagnosis in 2018 forced me to retire but also gave me an opportunity to pour into our future. This scholarship is designed to do just that, continue a legacy by helping others create their own.
